Lexington man arrested in New York as murder suspect

According to the authorities, 26-year-old Duval Lamont Bowman was charged today with murder in connection with the death of a Winston-Salem man that occurred in February.

Winston-Salem police said that Duval Lamont Bowman is accused of killing Anthony Ivry Lee Johnson.

On 23rd of February, police officers went to the scene of a reported assault at 2971 Bennington Court around 3:20 a.m. and they found Johnson lying dead inside the home. A magistrate issued a warrant that day charging Bowman with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the police. U.S. Marshals later took Bowman into custody in Coney Island, N.Y. and authorities returned him to Winston-Salem afterwards.

Bowman was being held in the Forsyth County Jail.
